A new feature to the Soulsborne games available in Elden Ring is the ability to summon different creatures and enemies as spirit allies using items known as Spirit Ashes. This page contains a list of all known Spirit Ashes, and where you can find them.
In order to summon spirits, you'll need the Spirit Calling Bell. Visit the How to Summon Spirits guide to learn how to get it, our guide on How to Level Up Spirit Summons to learn how to increase their power, and our guide on Where to Get Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort to learn where to obtain their upgrade materials.
You can find Spirit Ashes from defeating certain enemies, purchasing them from vendors, or locating them by exploring the Lands Between. These Spirit Ashes take the form of enemies you've encountered, and vary in how powerful they are, how many of them can appear as a group, and how much FP is needed to summon them. Generally, stronger Spirits may cost a lot of FP and will only appear solo, while weaker spirits can be summoned in groups for a lot less FP, but may die quickly.
Unlike spells, they don't need to be memorized or slotted, and can be used like any other items, but only one type of Spirit can be summoned at a time, and they cannot be summoned during multiplayer.

Wandering Noble Ashes
- FP Cost: 28
- Number of Spirits Summoned: 5
- Best Used for: Distractions, Crowd Control
Wandering Nobles have very little HP and attack extremely slow, and shouldn't be relied on to assist you in taking out enemies - but instead can serve as excellent distractions to get enemies to change targets and take the heat off you.
The Wandering Noble Ashes can be found in the Stormfoot Catacombs mini dungeon in West Limgrave. Progress into the dungeon until you find a second flamethrower trap, and look behind it to find a body guarded by several goblins.
Noble Sorcerer Ashes
- FP Cost: 11
- Number of Spirits Summoned: 1
- Best Used for: Distractions, Ranged Support

The Noble Sorcerer is fairly weak and slow, especially on its own, but its low FP cost means it can be used as a great distraction, and can assist you against tougher fights to constantly distract your target at range (assuming you can juggle the aggression before its killed).
The Noble Sorcerer Ashes can be obtained by defeating the boss of the Stormfoot Catacombs mini dungeon in West Limgrave. Defeat the Erdtree Burial Watchdog to claim them.
Lone Wolf Ashes
- FP Cost: 55
- Number of Spirits Summoned: 3
- Best Used for: Distractions, Melee Support
Despite their name, the Lone Wolf Ashes support you in a small pack, making them great for assisting in combat as they dart in and out - especially when facing ranged attackers or slow moving targets that aren't quick to retaliate. Their speed makes them excellent at disrupting enemies - but if caught, they won't last long.
The Lone Wolf Ashes are given freely as soon as you have obtained Torrent, by fast travelling to the Church of Elleh and meet Ranni the Snow Witch. If you cannot find her and instead have uncovered the Roundtable Hold, the Lone Wolf Ashes and Spirit-Calling Bell will instead be sold by the Twin Maiden Husks at the hold for 200 Runes.
Spirit Jellyfish Ashes
- FP Cost: 31
- Number of Spirits Summoned: 1
- Best Used for: Single Target Support
The Spirit Jellyfish Ashes summons a large and sturdy jellyfish to assist you with a mixture of ranged and melee attacks. It moves fairly slow, and won't be able to follow you that well or attack fast targets and groups - but it can tank a lot of blows. Consider using it to assist on a boss to tank a few hits meant for you, and if you can stop it from getting interrupted, its attacks can debuff and poison your enemies.
You can find the Spirit Jellyfish by speaking to Roderika at the Storm Hill Shack in West Limgrave, just up the road from the Storm Gate. Speak to her several times to exhaust her dialogue, and she will offer them to you before leaving for the Roundtable Hold

Kaiden Sellsword Ashes
- FP Cost: 88
- Number of Spirits Summoned: 1
- Best Used for: Melee Tank, Melee Support
The Kaiden Sellsword Ashes are a costly summon, but well worth it. They behave much like any other human NPC, meaning they can attack with strong or light hits, use a buffing skill, dodge, block, and tank many blows for you. They deal a lot of damage with a wide sweeping sword, making them great for crowd control and a great ally to bring to a boss fight, as you can swap aggro with them and time attacks to quickly stagger nearly any opponent.
You can find the Kaiden Sellsword Ashes at the Cliffbottom Catacombs in East Liurnia, by defeating the Erdtree Burial Watchdog boss.
